Cela se passait ainsi : les banques centrales achetaient le précieux métal, à prix fixe, sans recourir à un marché d’échange.

Il semble inutile de préciser que les choses ont vraiment changé.

Il faut bien reconnaître que les circonstances économiques ont favorisé ces changements.

De nos jours, le marché de l’or appelle de plus en plus d’investisseurs, soucieux de détenir ce métal jaune.

C’est ce qui amène à voir d’un côté les vendeurs, (les producteurs d’or, les possesseurs d’or) et de l’autre ceux qu’on appelle les acheteurs, tant les industriels que les épargnants.

Le fonctionnement du marché de l’or français au fil du temps

Pour la petite histoire, il faut se remémorer que pour effectuer des transactions sur l’or en France, il a fallu attendre 1948.

De plus, la détention d’or sera réservée exclusivement pour le sol français, interdisant de fait, l’importation et l’exportation.

On peut se souvenir du temps où le marché de l’or s’organisait à la Bourse de Paris.

La cotation se faisait à la criée et on y trouvait le lingot, le napoléon, voire le souverain.

Plus tard, l’informatique aidant, les systèmes plus évolués se sont mis en place pour effectuer la cotation.

Enfin, c’est en 1982 que le marché de la place de Paris fut règlementé.

Pour mémoire, ceci correspondait à l’arrivée de la gauche au pouvoir, sous l’impulsion de M. Mitterrand.

Pendant quatre ans, on supprima l’anonymat sur la possession d’or, mais que l’on rétablit en 1986.
